04Charges
How the fee works
AED 4,420 a year (AED 442 a month) in 2026–27, the same for every area. If your child uses the bus for only part of a term:
| Use in a term | Charge |
|---|---|
| Up to one week in a term | One month's bus fee |
| More than three and up to six weeks | Two months' bus fees |
| More than six weeks | The full term's bus fee |
| One way only | The same fee: a seat is kept for your child |
Following ADEK and the Department of Transport. Fees continue until you cancel in writing; there are no refunds for stopping mid-term.
05On the bus
Bus rules
- 01Be at the stop five minutes early. Buses cannot wait.
- 02A parent or guardian meets the bus at the drop point five minutes early; otherwise the child returns to school.
- 03Seatbelts on, seated all the time, aisle clear, voices low.
- 04Children sit in their assigned seats and get off row by row.
- 05No food or drink on the bus except water.
- 06A child with a fever is not sent home by bus.
- 07Parents pay for any damage; indiscipline can mean losing the bus place without refund.
06Questions
What parents ask the transport desk
01Who do I call if the bus is late?
The bus supervisor first: every bus has one, and you receive their number when your child is given a seat. If they do not answer, call the school reception or your child's form tutor.
02My child will not take the bus home today.
Tell the bus supervisor in advance, and send a note with your child or an email to the class teacher or the transport desk before the school day ends.
03How do I stop using the bus?
Email transport@ssis.ae with a copy to accounts@ssis.ae. You will receive the discontinuation form to fill in and send back. Fees continue until the cancellation is in writing, and a place given up in June or December is not kept for the new term.
04What if there is no seat on my route yet?
Your child joins the waiting list. After three weeks you can ask for a refund, or for the fee to count towards the next term's tuition.
05Is there a bus to CBSE board examination centres?
No. Families arrange transport to external examination centres for Class X and Class XII.
